DIY Bath Soak

Try this simple bath soak recipe to turn your everyday bathroom into a “Day at the Spa” experience. It is super easy to make and you can add components to the base mixture to cure what ever ails you on any given day.

Main Soaking Mixture (known for its detoxifying value):

Now you can leave your bath soak at this stage or you can add to it to make it that much better!

Additive Options:

  • Ginger – flush out toxins and unclog pores (the baking soda does this too)
  • Chamomile – a couple bags of chamomile tea steeped in your bath water will help you sleep.
  • Lavender – known to be soothing, relieve headaches and menstrual cramps, helps you sleep and reduces stress and anxiety.
  • Cucumber – soothes skin, restores moisture and reduces skin irritation.
  • Oatmeal – soothes skin, reduces redness due to sunburn, hives, eczema and other skin irritations.
  • Rose – soothing scent with anti-stress benefits.
  • Honey – soften and soothes skin.
  • Milk – soothes and calms skin as well as relieves sunburns.
  • Coconut Oil – hydrates and strengthens skin. Also has anti-aging benefits.
  • Lemon – shrinks pores and revives the skin and senses.
  • Cinnamon – invigorating, detoxifying and alleviates rashes.
  • Essential Oils – add drops of essential oils to add an aromatically pleasing experience to your soak. Essential oils have many health benefits and depending on which ones you decide to use they can help you sleep, relax, soothe muscle aches, relieve stress, uplift your mood, clear congestions and more.

Ocean Breeze ~ 2 drops cedarwood, 1 drop lemon, 1 drop rosemary

Energy ~ 2 drops peppermint, 2 drops wild orange

Stress Be Gone ~ 2 drops lavender, 1 drop clary sage, 1 drop ylang-ylang

Focus ~ 2 drops balance, 1 drop vetiver, 1 drop frankincense

Clear Sinuses ~ 2 drops eucalyptus, 2 drops peppermint
